On a Long Distance move, the total costs are established by the size of your consignment, the distance it travels, and the number services that you select or which become necessary to handle your shipment. Charges for local move are generally calculated on a half hourly basis. There is a minimum 3-hour Charge.

Our attention should be drawn to any local height, length, and weight restrictions. Please let us know if turning off into a narrow lane is involved to gain access to either address. Parking permits have to be paid and arranged by the customer. However, we are glad to assist with that by submitting an application to the local council.

For owner-packed jobs, we can deliver the needed materials any day in advance. Bear in mind, that packing is not easy and you have to leave yourself plenty of time to do it. Do not request the packing materials for the day before the move to find out you still have a lot of work when the movers arrive. In such cases, it will be more difficult for our crew and will cost extra to pack on the moving day.

Yes, Get U Moving have a regular training programme, and employ an in-house experienced training officer.

The rates are slightly higher on weekends as we pay overtime to our staff.

As we work on a first come, first serve basis the earlier you can book your move the better your chances that we will be available. We generally recommend booking at least one month in advance. With that said, we have worked with people who needed to move within a week or even a day so it’s always a good idea to fill out our online for to get an estimate. We will get back to you as soon as possible to let you know if we can help or not.

Travel time is added to cover the time spent traveling between the mover’s warehouse to your old apartment and then back to the warehouse from your new apartment. This fee is already included in your estimate as Travel Time. This is a flat fee so you don’t have to worry about it changing in the final invoice.

Once you have paid the deposit, you will be charged the remaining balance after the move has been completed

Below is an average time in a standard property with 2-3 packers to pack household goods, it varies depending how occupied the property with items is.

  • Studio to one-bedroom apartment takes between 2-4 hours to pack.
  • Two bedroom house usually takes between 3-5 hours to pack.
  • Three bedroom house usually takes between 5-8 hours to pack.
  • Four bedroom house roughly between 8-12 hours to pack.
  • Five bedroom house approximately takes between 10-12 hours to pack.
  • Fold your bedding and leave on beds ready for packing.
  • If you have chosen to have your packing done for you the packers will take these items straight from shelves, cabinets etc.
  • Leave clothes on hangers and these can be packed into wardrobe cartons. All hangers should be round the same way.
  • You can usually leave items of clothing etc in chests of drawers.
  • In accordance with insurance regulations removal companies will not carry inflammables.
  • Garden tools, lawnmower etc should be cleaned and left ready to be loaded.
  • Ensure that all food items are tightly sealed or packed.
  • Dismantle/disconnect any fixtures and fittings you wish to take with you.
  • Retain all personal papers and documents before putting your house contents into storage.
  • Washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, freezers and cookers should all be disconnected on the day before your move. Washing machine drums must be secured with brackets to prevent damage. Fridges and freezers should be washed out with detergent and dried thoroughly inside. If any of the above items are not cleaned and dried thoroughly mildew will form during long-term storage. After the move fridge should be turned on next day, you must let the liquid settle properly before it is used again.
  • If there is a danger that the chain may collapse because you are unable to gain access to your new property in time it may be prudent to move out on the requested date and put your goods into storage for the short time in between.
  • Health and Safety regulations state that unless a loft is fully boarded removal men are not permitted to enter that area. All items should be taken down and placed in a room.
